Greetings Fellows,
Last weeks guest speaker, Tony Stewart spoke about his
trek along the Kokoda track in support of Father Chris Riley’s “Youth off
the Streets” organisation.
Tony told us of the many difficulties and challenges
encountered by his group in completing this trek.
What a wonderful story. I am sure that Tony could have
spoken and we could have listened for another hour to his explanation of his
involvement with this fantastic trip.
On to Rotary business, Kevin
Beltrame spoke about the upcoming RYLA camp and I congratulate him on his
efforts with this programme. The students will be transported to camp on
Friday and we wish them the best. I know they will benefit greatly from the
experience and we look forward to hearing from them in the near future.
This week we welcome back
Graham True as Sergeant following his recent shoulder surgery. Thanks go to
Bert Houston for standing in as Sergeant for the past few weeks, Bert has
done a great job.
This week Connie will outline the arrangements for this
years Pride of Workmanship awards to be held on the24th November. I am sure
that this years presentation evening will be another success especially
following the announcement that State Opposition Leader, John Brogden will
be the guest speaker for the evening.
“MORE NEXT WEEK”
and until then, LET’S CELEBRATE ROTARY,
President Keith
