President's Pieces

22 September 2004

Greetings Fellows,

Unfortunately last week our guest speaker had to cancel at short notice.  Richard Horwood improvised with an entertaining job talk from himself and Warren Abbott.

I would like to give praise to my Board who are all carrying out invaluable tasks within their individual portfolios.

Connie’s announcement that John Brogden will be guest speaker at the upcoming “Pride of Workmanship” awards will inject a great deal of interest and I feel that we will once again have a  full house and a successful night.

Kevin Beltrame has again excelled with his wonderful work as Youth Director. Kevin and his team successfully transported all of the students to Richmond last Friday for the RYPEN camp. Thanks also go to Euan Watson for volunteering as a driver.

We as a Board have decided to purchase a number of raffle prizes for our weekly raffle. I feel that the responsibility to provide raffle prizes on a weekly basis is too big an ask for a small group of people as well as to provide something interesting each week. So fellows get your small change ready because I feel sure that you will want to buy a few more tickets each week when the raffle prizes are announced.

On the subject of raffles thank you to Tony Lanzafame and Paul Giammarco for coming up with raffle prizes at the eleventh hour last week. Thanks boys.

I would like to remind Members who have not yet signed their Child Protection forms that it is mandatory for any Member who is involved in any activities involving under 18 year olds that they must have signed this declaration.

Please make this a “must do” as District will soon be asking me to report on numbers of signatures

“MORE NEXT WEEK”

and until then, LET’S CELEBRATE ROTARY,

President Keith
