Welcome to
another great week of Rotary. Last week’s partners’ night was very enjoyable
with Dr Mick Campion proving to be an excellent guest speaker, with many
questions coming from the floor after his address.
One of
those questions was "Could we have a copy of the power point presentation?"
Hopefully included within your bulletin are hard copies of his presentation
for you and your partners information.
As
indicated last week our cycling group has expanded with Rod "the natural" Mc
Dougall and "Puffing" Bill Carney joining our Sunday morning ride. This week
saw the group expand even further with Brian "BJ" Johnston joining in.
This now
brings our very own "peleton" to nine Strathfield Rotarians and two friends.
This week Rod was on a racing bike, riding even better than last week and
agreeing that he really should have been doing this twelve months ago and
Brian was on a new mountain bike. Brian also acquitted himself very well
tackling some very hard hills on his first ride.
The Pres,
after receiving the necessary medication from Doc Euan during the week was
also back in action, even if at the back of the pack.
Tuesday
night saw another meeting of the board, with our meeting being held at
Lanzafame Restaurant in Haberfield, thanks to Tony and John Lanzafame.
Details of our discussions and decisions will be presented directly at the
meeting.
Last week
Sec Shane indicated the GSE farewell for the team going to Scotland in
September will be held at the Holroyd Centre on Monday September 2nd.
While I do
not propose to have a "change of meeting" I do hope our members will support
this event and support our Strathfield team member Mary Romanous. Due to
this event the Pizza night scheduled for Tuesday 3rd will be rescheduled by
Club Service Director Keith.
That’s all
this week folks
Pres Steve
