"Rotary
at its best!". One of several comments your president was
delighted to receive following last week's Pride of Workmanship
Awards.
The quality of the awardees was exceptionally good, the mood was
relaxed and friendly – and the proceedings ran smoothly. A very
enjoyable evening.
The joint presentation of an award by the club and Suttons Motors
was a success I believe - and an initiative that I hope will be
considered in the future with other local companies. It is a great
way to develop a relationship with them. Thanks to Allan Teale for
the suggestion.
I think it fair to say that our club made its contribution to
Rotary leading the way in vocational service. I am hopeful that we
will get some good PR and that this will assist in encouraging
those who have been invited to our information night to come
along.
Many club members contributed to the success of the night. Special
congratulations to Kevin Beltrame, Kevin Freund, Keith Byrn,
Connie Galletta, Joe Campisi, Bradley Ayres and Sal Tosto.
Registrations for the district conference are rolling in and I am
happy to report that conference chairman Bert Houston is
registrant number one.
If you had not noticed – Christmas is just around the corner. The
children's party (to be held Wednesday 13 December) is in Connie
Galletta's capable hands. As president elect Brian Johnson has the
honour of planning the adult party (to be held Wednesday 20
December). I know they would both welcome ideas and offers of
assistance.
A reminder that the District 9690 banner and pin design
competition closes at the end of this month. Entries should be
sent to DG Harley.
The winner will be announced at the district conference.
Enjoy Rotary …
by getting
involved!
