Sometimes we need to look no further than our own ranks for great
"guest speakers".
Ray Wilson's appearance last week was excellent. His reflections
on the over fifty years that he has been associated with the game
of golf, mostly as a professional, were fascinating and
entertaining - and enjoyed by golfers and non-golfers alike.
New member Craig Eldredge's job talk on his experience as part of
the travelling production of the musical Cats was equally
interesting. Craig has promised to address us again, this time
covering his days touring with Jimmy Barnes, Billy Thorpe, Col
Joye, Little Patti and many more.
Planning for our Rotary Information Night on 9 May is now underway
in earnest. Please take a moment to think about friends an
colleagues who would make good Rotarians and who may be interested
in attending. Suggestions to Ray Wilson by 20 April.
Special thanks to those members who have once again agreed to
speak on the night.
It was a pleasure last week to present Ray with a Lead the Way
Achievement Award for his very successful membership development
achievements so far this year.
Unfortunately, it has been necessary to defer the Family
Entertainment Day that Allan Teale had been organising, to a date
to be determined. Although much of the entertainment had been
booked (including Bananas in Pyjamas) delays in arranging the sale
of tickets through local schools have necessitated a rescheduling.
Further to the subject of guest speakers, Peter Harries and David
Giri are planning the program through to the end of this (Rotary)
year and would appreciate suggestions from members on who might be
interested in addressing the club.
Enjoy Rotary …
by getting
involved!
