President's Pieces

29 September 2004

Greetings Fellows,

What another great guest speaker last week. Craig McMartin explained some of the secrets that led him to his current Australian Superbike Championship title. Often motorcyclists are seen as “rough” characters, but how well did Craig come across with his clean cut & quiet image. We were fortunate to have him as a guest speaker. Thanks go to Alan Teale for his efforts in securing Craig as a speaker.

Speaking of things that were good my compliments go to Rudy for the superb meal that was served to us last week. I for one enjoyed the fine array on the buffet and look forward to more meals of this kind.

Richard Horwood, Programs Director, has already a full program until February next year. Richard is doing a splendid job and we look forward to future guest speakers. If the speakers that we have heard are an indication of what is to come we can look forward to an interesting and informative year ahead.

A reminder that the Board has decided that we will resume having a Children’s Christmas party this year. The date is yet to be decided but we have agreed that the menu should cater for both adults and children. Perhaps we could suggest a buffet as we had last week. So everyone please organize your families, children and grandchildren for a fun, festive night.

Our Pride of Workmanship evening is fast approaching and now is your chance to nominate someone that you feel is worthy of this recognition. Nomination forms can be obtained from Connie. Let’s support this fine event to once again make it a great evening. Even if you are not nominating a candidate please come along to enjoy the night and listen to our special guest speaker, John Brogden, State Opposition Leader.

That’s all for now so,

“MORE NEXT WEEK”

and until then, LET’S CELEBRATE ROTARY,

President Keith
