Greetings Fellows,
Another great meeting last week, thanks to Angelo & Joe for their job talks. I hope for these to be a regular feature of our club meetings and have one each month.
As previously mentioned we have been negotiating with Strathfield Council regarding the annual “Carols by Candlelight”. Joe Campisi has now confirmed that it has been arranged that the Council will take over organizing the whole entertainment side of Carols and that our Rotary Club will continue to look after the catering and the sale of some other small items such as the popular glow sticks etc.
The exciting news is that the entertainment will begin earlier at 2pm and will include talent quests for various age groups leading up to the Carols in the evening. This should also make this a great fundraiser, thanks go to Joe for his efforts so far.
This weeks meeting will be attended by our new DG Lloyd Roever, presenting his visions and plans for the current Rotary year. I would like as many members as possible to be in attendance to hear what Lloyd has to say. We have made this an optional partners night as well.
The following week our guest speaker is Sandy Harrison, who will be talking on “Aged Care, Past, Present & Future”, an area that will affect us all at some time.
