President's Pieces

17th November 2004

Greetings Fellows,

My main focus this week is to bring everyone’s attention to attendance or more accurately to the lack of attendance along with the growing numbers of non apologies.

My attention has been once again drawn to this topic by one of our senior members, and I must agree that I promised to “bite the bullet” and do something to correct this area some time ago.

As the year has progressed and I have become busier than expected, I have not given attendance the time that it deserves.

This week we have a Board meeting and attendance will be the major point of discussion at this meeting to see what we can come up with to encourage Members to make an effort to attend as required. After all we became Members of this great organisation not only for fellowship but to serve Rotary and to follow Rotary beliefs.

There are certain rules and regulations that cover attendance and these must be observed. If it becomes necessary I will follow these to the “nth degree”.

I would however prefer to keep harmony within the Club and have Members reminded of their responsibilities and save any embarrassment by having to enforce these rules.

I invite Members to contact me if they have something to contribute and through the Board we will try to rectify this problem.

Please Fellows give this your full attention!

Strathfield Club currently has the lowest attendance percentage in the District. Are you embarrassed? – I AM.

Fellows I ask you to also check your bulletins for the dates of upcoming events and support those fellow Members who put a great amount of time and effort into the planning and running of these events and making them successful.

That’s all for now,

“MORE NEXT WEEK”

and until then, LET’S CELEBRATE ROTARY – TOGETHER.

President Keith
