Greetings Fellows,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Club Assembly last week, it was well
attended and we had some sensible debate. From the responses of those who
attended, I am sure we are doing most things well and are heading in the
right direction.
Connie and Domenico have agreed to research storage for our second trailer
and all of the gear that we have acquired. It would be fantastic to have all
of our equipment stored in one location.
Thanks go to Tony Lanzafame for having our Honour Board updated and to Eve
Dutton for standing in for Alan Petersen last week, a job well done.
A reminder to everyone that Harley Tarrant's farewell is on at Parramatta
Leagues Club on Thursday 22/7. It would be great to see a strong contingent
attending from Strathfield to show their appreciation for the loyalty and
service that Harley has given to Rotary International.
Steve Taylor has given a brief outline as to what the Rotary Foundation is
currently involved in and I am sure that when you hear of the wonderful
things that the Foundation is involved in you will give it your full support
as I am. Steve will from time to time give us more information on this most
worthy project.
DG Lloyd Roever is visiting our Club on 21/7/2004 and I urge all Members to
be in attendance to welcome Lloyd and hear what his visions are for the
coming year.
The District Conference next year is in Canberra from 18/3 to 20/3. Our
Conference Chairman, Ted Ingall has pre booked accommodation at the Crowne
Plaza adjacent to the conference venue.
It would be pleasing to have a healthy attendance from our Club for the
"Centenary" conference. Please see Ted or myself if you have any queries.
Next week I will be outlining our fundraising direction for the coming year,
until then, LET'S CELEBRATE ROTARY.
“MORE NEXT WEEK”
