President's Pieces

3rd November 2004

Greetings Fellows,

There was no bulletin last week due to our visit to Rhodes Waterside. Thank you to Steve Taylor for arranging this visit. I was pleased and impressed to see so many members and guests taking the opportunity to join us on the guided tour of both the commercial and residential sections of this development.

I do believe the shopping centre will be fantastic when it is completed at the end of November, just in time for the all important Christmas shopping spree!

Our thanks go out again to Shirley Del Prado who continues to excel with her BBQ duties. Shirley and her team always impress wherever they go. There were however last week a number of members who did not keep their commitment to help with the BBQ. I do believe that those concerned have apologized and will no doubt be able to help out in the future.

Don’t forget our Club Go Kart “grudge match” at Eastern Creek on the 8th November. We are limited to 20 drivers so be early and complete Steve Taylor’s commitment sheet ASAP.

As the Pride of Workmanship evening is rapidly approaching please indicate to Connie your intention to attend and remember that Partners and Guests are welcome. This is looking to once again be a great night.

Speaking of great nights I must thank Peter Foss, Roger Vince, Ray McCluskie, Harley Tarrant and Co. for organizing and running the inaugural “Historic Melbourne Cup”. A huge effort went into this evening and I do believe that all who attended really enjoyed the concept and the night. Well done Fellows.

As this report goes to print Bulletin Editor, Angelo Franco is flying to Italy with Maryanne on holiday. We hope Angelo has a wonderful time and in his absence Bob Templeman has agreed to be Bulletin Editor, I thank Bob for his assistance.

That’s all for now,

“MORE NEXT WEEK”

and until then, LET’S CELEBRATE ROTARY,

President Keith
