Hello fellows,
This evening we welcome
members of the Meriden Interact club to our club.
Last Friday night I attended a
Presidents’ meeting at Penrith and took the opportunity to present our
donation of $500 to the District Governor on behalf of the Millennium
Foundation.
Alan Sweet of the Padstow Club
has recently returned from a GSE trip to Houston and has advised that he
together with his team are willing and available to attend any club to speak
about their experiences of the trip.
The District Governor has
advised that so far the District has raised just over $100,000 for the
Northcott Society. I told the DG that we planned to present the Northcott
Society with an amount in excess of $20,000 later in June
Last Sunday I together with a
number of our members participated in the Salvation Army’s Red Shield
appeal. Some of us provided transport for volunteer collectors while others
assisted, by counting the money as collectors returned to the South
Strathfield Bowling Club.
Thank you to those members
that helped on the day.
I urge all members to indicate
their intentions, on the commitment sheet, whether or not you will be
attending the District Changeover on Saturday 26 June, at St. Joseph’s
College, Hunters Hill 7.00 p.m. sharp, $50.00 per person 3 course meal
including beer wine & soft drink. Please note that tickets must be booked
and paid for as one booking for each club. There will not be any facility to
book and pay on the night. Bookings close 11 June 2004.
I have information for those
who wish to nominate for District Governor for Rotary year 2006 – 2007.
Nominations are now open and close 2 July 2004
