Hello Fellows and Guests,
Welcome to all our guests to the annual Strathfield
Rotary Golf day and night, I trust the golfing participants enjoyed their
day and we appreciate everyone’s support in helping us with our fundraising
for the Trish Foundation.
Last week I mentioned that Rotary International is urging clubs to become
involved in a community project to celebrate Rotary International’s
centenary and create awareness in the community. Suggestions for a possible
project should be forwarded to President elect Keith Byrn before 3 March for
consideration at our Board meeting on 10 March 2004.
This week I spoke with Ron Thurgar who sends his
greetings to everyone at Strathfield Rotary Club. Ron would like to visit us
but circumstances make it difficult for him to do so, but will whenever he
is able to.
Members of the “Bike the Park” committee met with
Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) staff to progress planning for the
event on 2 May 2004. The meeting was positive and SOPA will be provide
support for the event and assistance in areas they are able to.
Don’t forget the District seminar on Child Protection
guidelines to be held at:
Blue Mountains Grammar
School
Adele Avenue, (off Great
Western Highway)
Wentworth Falls.
Sunday 7 March 2004 9.00
to 12.30 p.m.
I encourage as many members as possible to attend this
seminar.
Have a good week.
Keith
