What happened to the week, it just
seemed like a few days ago we were last here.
Last week, on behalf of D G Warwick Tester, I announced that the District
was having an information night on Thursday 10 July to provide interested
Rotarians with information about a District Governor’s role. When I was
speaking to the District Governor on Friday he said “no one turned up” which
surprised me, I thought there would be someone in the District that would be
interested.
Also, last week you will recall I announced that there will be a District
Leadership information night at Rooty Hill Convention Centre on Friday 15
August at 6.30 p.m. This is not a recruitment night but an opportunity for
people to learn and gain knowledge about the workings of various Rotary
committees at the District level.
A topic discussed at our recent Board meeting related to “late apologies”
and “non apologies”. Members are reminded that “Apologies” must be received
by Eric Khu on 9746 0397 by midday on Tuesday. This is necessary to conform
to the requirements of the caterer. Apologies received after midday on
Tuesday result in reordering meal numbers and in some cases may not be
communicated at all.
“Non apologies” often result in the club having to pay for the meal of
members who don’t turn up. Members need to remember that their meal was
ordered the previous day and therefore we have committed to pay for it.
On the subject of paying for things, half yearly Club dues of $110 (incl.
GST) are payable now. It would be appreciated if members could pay as soon
as possible as the Club is required to pay District and Rotary International
dues by the end of this month.
Tonight there is no guest speaker scheduled however I look forward to
listening to 2 of our members speak to us about their respective vocations.

23 July Partners Night 6.30 p.m. for 7.00 p.m,
