YOUTH DIRECTOR REPORTS

Dear fellows,

I am extremely grateful to our President, Thaya Ponniah for the opportunity to be the new Youth Service Director. It is an honour to take over from the great work of the late Peter Smith. Peter has been the front-man for Youth Services for a long time and has been instrumental in the development of our Youth Programs and establishing relationships with schools such as Homebush Boys High School. I hope to continue to strengthen those relationships and programs as well as establish new initiatives.

My portfolio will include the Annual Youth Achievement Awards, Citizenship Awards, RYLA, RYPEN and Muna nominations, and the Maurie Moroney Memorial Debate. We have already sponsored two students for the NYSF (National Youth Science Forum) nominations this year, one from PLC and one from Meriden.

We also plan to set up joint projects with other Interact and Rotaract Clubs as well as initiate new Interact and Rotaract Clubs.

I look forward to an exciting year ahead working with the board and my fellow Rotarians.
