Marcus Aurelius, Greek philosopherThe Youth Awards are all ready to go with Ed Dunlop and the team Peter Smith, Arie Pappas, Steve Argyris, Bradley Ayres working away for the last month. An awards event looks great in the end, but enormous amount of work goes into the preparation . So a big thanks to all of you for putting this great youth event together. Our last Board meeting of the year this month will be held on 16th June after the club meeting. Please bring to attention any issues or matters of interest. Changeover is only 10 days away; the flyer (click) and the Humanitix (click) links are also available on our website (click). Please buy your tickets as soon as possible. Rod McDougall needs to provide numbers attending to Forte catering. It will be a fine evening with many distinguished guests, great food, music and many inspirational speeches. Last week we had a great virtual fellowship meeting! Just some light talk and plenty of laughter. I don't particularly remember the talk, but what I do remember was the impeccably perfect toast to Rotary by George Hallworth whose remarks included "Rotary is a group of people who band together to leave the world better than they found it. We continue to serve mankind on a worldwide basis." Clearly George's thinking is as sharp as it ever was and so is his love for Rotary and appreciation of the work Rotarians do. This week we will hear from Craig Wood about ‘Undercover Rescue Ops- Setting Captives Free’. Craig Wood works for an anti-child trafficking organisation called 'Destiny Rescue'.
