About Dimitry Palmer

Origins: Born & bred in Strathfield, Australia. Russian heritage on Mum's side, Australian on Dad's side.

Age: Not the youngest in the club!

Marital Status: Married for nearly 5 months to Abbie (time flies!).

Education: HSC at Trinity Grammar School (2013), Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney (2014-2019), near completion of Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.

Employment: Government Relations Consultant at Insurance Australia Group Ltd (IAG).

Languages: English, AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language).

Hobbies: Skiing, Learning Golf, Rugbah Leeg.

Why did I Join Rotary? Initially I thought Rotarians were just 'the people that do BBQs', but that's only a small part of the experience! Rotary plays an important role in bringing the community together at a time when many forces are trying to divide us. Being able to give back to our community and meeting the diverse range of members from different walks of life prompted me to get involved! I've been lucky enough to find many mentors in our club, which is one of the big reasons I became a Rotarian, despite being of 'Rotaract age'!

How did I Join Rotary? Inquired through Gulian Vaccari and inducted in 2018.

How did I get on the Board? You all voted for me! I enjoyed the challenge of being Secretary in 2019-2020, and look forward to supporting our club for another year.
