Isn’t it good we can always call upon a Rotarian to fill in where needed. On the 11th we were lucky to have Trevor as our guest speaker, the programme speaker was unable to show. Trevor stepped in with a wonderful presentation of “Broughlea” his magnificent Victorian Italianate style home restoration.

Several of our Rotarians were able to view Broughlea first hand at the ‘Dinner at the Duxbury’s on our Valentines day social get together. What a fun evening with wonderful food in wonderful surroundings and wonderful company – a big thankyou to Trevor and Nanette ($500 added to the coffers) .

Peter Smith and I attended the District Presidents meeting on Friday 13th. Vocational and youth were the focus of discussions, we are fairing well in both of these. There  was also talk on the upcoming District Conference.

The District Conference – the themed dinner is “Your favourite movie star”. I hope you all have your thinking caps on- talk to Ted.

Penny and I attended the G.S.E presentation at Burwood Club. The presentation of the Brazilian team was most enjoyable, but something we should note when we have visitors, please make sure we go out of our way to make them feel part of the group.

At last Tuesdays board meeting it was decided Peter our vocational chair would investigate an involvement with the Mens Shed. It was also resolved that following our $1000 donation to the Bush Fire Crises  through district 9710 in Victoria we would wait to decide what further aid we will give.

Last Thursday was a BIG DAY, the efforts from Niall and all concerned was EXTRAORDINARY.  The Trish Foundation will have an additional $50,000 to help with its research. Well done everyone!!

Shirley has just had a short stint in hospital and I am pleased to report she is back home again and will be attending  tonight’s meeting.  On the tables tonight is a little reminder about our mystery car rally on the 22nd March. I hope you have all kept that day free for the “Magical Mystery Tour”.

And remember:  Fun and fellowship in Rotary

President Grahame
