Grahame True with Penny

President 2008-9

Rotary Club of Strathfield

 President Electric's Lines

Wednesday 20 May 2009

Deborah and Eve’s talks last week left us comparing memories of a previous generation to a modern day education – vast differences; thankyou Deborah and Eve.

P.D.G. David was happy to let me know of an unexpected profit of approximately $1000 at our A.N.Z.A.C Day breakfast. This was due to the generosity of many. I am happy to say this money is being donated to R.A.M.S. – Rotary Against Malaria for bed nets, thankyou again Cape Cabarita.

Penny and I spent the weekend in Orange with P.P. Brian and Janet. He was happy to hear we are continuing with the Service Above Self Award that he started in his presidential year, I let him know the votes have been cast, counted and the winner is ……..! (TBA 26th June).  Brian has continued his dedication to Rotary at the Orange club however they both miss our Strathfield club.

Looking forward to P.P. Steve’s last gourmet safari for my year on the 28th of this month please give Steve your support.

The change over dinner is on the 26th June and should already be indelibly inscribed in your diary, please get behind Kevin and give him your support from day one.

Thankyou everyone who has volunteered for the Red Shield Appeal next Sunday and Peter Smith for gathering the troops – I am sure the day will be successful.

Regrettably Peter Burke is unable to be our guest speaker this evening; he has recently undergone surgery and is recovering well. Neil has assured me he has it all in hand.

And remember:  Fun and fellowship in Rotary

President Grahame
