Last weeks guest speaker, Ian Lawson, enlightened us in the
work of the Chiropractor. What surprised me was that many of
our Rotarians do in fact regularly attend a Chiropractic
Clinic for treatment. Also the fact that many Rotarians do
need treatment due to years of poor posture and too many fat
wallets being carried in their hip pockets!!.
Well we are almost there again; Christmas is looming. We
have the Carols by Candlelight in Strathfield Park early in
December. Part of the funds raised on the night will be
given to both the ‘Homebush-Strathfield Meals on Wheels’ and
‘Exodus Foundation’. Those two local community groups will
need our financial support during the festive season so as
to make a better xmas for those in need within our
communities.
The funds raised from our xmas party on 12th December will
be going towards the running costs of the new school bus for
Chalmers Road Special School.; a follow-on from PP Rod
McDougall’s commitment last rotary year.
A reminder fellows of the upcoming AGM and elections on 5th
December. Club Services Director Grahame True would
appreciate those who would like to be on his Board to
contact him for inclusion on his expected extensive list of
nominations for positions.
Look forward to tonight’s presentation by PDG John Wakefield
on Rotary Foundation.
LAURA'S CULTURAL
EXPERIENCE
For those who are not aware Rotary has a Youth Exchange
Program and our Club are fortunate this year to host a
delightful young woman, Laura Fleurquin, from Rodez in
France.
Laura’s activities over the past week were:
Thursday night – Family dinner at my home.
Week-end – South Coast with her host family, the Trues,
together with another French exchange student.
Remember “Service Above Self”.
