Donations in Kind, another excellent Rotary program headed by PDG Ken Nicholls.
Ken gave us an in-depth presentation on various projects under the Donations in Kind banner; a good introduction to newer Rotarians and a reminder to our long-standing members, of the work carried out by Rotarians on this most worthwhile humanitarian program.
What a wonderful young fellow is Oscar Bullen. It was good to see someone so young who has the welfare of those in need in mind. Oscar, accompanied by his mother Jane, presented a cheque for $ 250.00 to PDG Ken for Donations in Kind. I will see that Oscar receives a certificate of appreciation for his excellent work.
Looking forward to our guest speaker this week, Margaret Streamer, who will be enlightening us on Astronomy.
We know that our theme for the year is “Rotary Shares”, and we do. However the one that always comes to mind, and we all understand is one of the main reasons we have become Rotarians, is “Service Above Self”.
