What a great
Conference we attended last weekend. Our Rotary Club was
represented by 38 members and partners, the most in
attendance from any of the Clubs in the District. For
this we received a bottle of champers (a bit hard to
share around 38 people). Thanks go to Conference Chair
Ted Ingall for his undying efforts in chasing up our
members to ensure a good representation of Strathfield
Rotarians at the Conference. Well done Ted.
The winner of the District Community Service Project
Award for the 07/08 year was announced during the Sunday
morning segment of the Conference. Our entry was the MS
Studdy Centre, Dr Euan Watson memorial garden; the
project that Niall King and his committee ably
project-managed to completion. You will be pleased to
know that that project won the title for this year.
Congratulations go to Niall, Ray Wilson, Les Hockley and
all of those who were involved in this hands-on project.
Well done fellow Rotarians.
Next years Conference will be held at Pokolbin in the
Hunter Valley. More details will be made available re
accommodation and the venue in due course..
Don’t forget fellows our Gala Night is quickly coming
upon us (9th May). We need tables of Rotarians and
friends for the event. Please contact Peter Manenti to
book your tables for the night.
Reminder to Board Members of the Board Meeting at my
home tonight.
