Judging by District
Governor Jennifer Scotts’ presentation and comments at last weeks
meeting she seemed happy with our clubs’ progress and fairly full
program for the remainder of the year. D G Jennifer was able to
provide us with copies of this years District Directory and some
copies of the first District Newsletter for the year. If any
Rotariansrequire a copy of the newsletter please contact me and I
will email it to you.
Thanks to PP Rod McDougall
for his excellent PR work in providing articles in the August
edition of the “Strathfield Scene”. For those who have not yet
received a copy of that local newspaper, Rod covered:-
Club changeover,
including upcoming events.
Advertising of our Pride of Workmanship Awards.
Last years ‘financial support’ of local schools.
Keeping Strathfield
residents informed of Rotary projects and our valuable work in the
community is most important.
A reminder that the Rotary
Youth Exchange Program allows students the opportunity of exposure
to different cultures, while affording students in their host
schools, and members of their host families and Rotary Club, with
excellent opportunities to learn local customs, languages,
traditions and family life in another country. I hope you will not
miss out on spending time with our exchange student, Laura, during
her stay. Did you know that the Youth Exchange Program began in 1927
with the Rotary Club of Nice, France.!!
I look forward this
Wednesday night to another great presentation from the Strathfield
Girls School pupils involved in the Literature Extension Program.
