President's Notes
30 October 2019
Dear fellows,
One of the most underrated and unknown benefits of
membership of service clubs such as Rotary is
FELLOWSHIP.
Understanding Fellowship
Fellowship is defined as “friendly association, especially with people who share
one's interests”. In my time as a Rotarian I have found the fellowship at our
club to be outstanding. Our members come from varied backgrounds and cultures,
with a common interest in serving our community. We meet weekly which is always
something to look forward to. In addition we have many social events which vary
from dinners, balls, golfing/bowling events etc. All in all, a lot of variety
with a great bunch of people, so why am I telling you? It’s good to reflect on
the positive and fun things in our lives, also something we too often don’t
share with our acquaintances who may be looking for similar experiences!
Graffiti Removal Day
In that regard, we’ve had an eventful week commencing with our Graffiti Removal
Day on Sunday. PP Peter Smith put many hours of planning into this event to
ensure that we had a positive contribution to our community and a fun Sunday
morning at the same time.
The President's Cup
Tuesday saw our Inaugural President’s Cup Golf Day which saw Bradley “Bubba”
Ayres & yours truly defeat PP’s Raymond “Tiger” McCluskie and Peter “The Shark”
Smith in a close encounter at Strathfield Golf Club. This was a tremendous
outing which we hope to repeat regularly, stay tuned!
Governor's Visit
This Wednesday we look forward to a visit from our District Governer Di North
among with her husband David and Assistant Governor Angela Bradley. We will be
receiving an update on what’s happening in District 9675 and in turn providing a
club update
Yours in Rotary
Arie Pappas
