The President's Column

The electronic newsletter is available click here but as there is no Newsletter (Bulletin) and no dinner meeting this week I felt it necessary to highlight a few matters:

1) Pride of Workmanship:

If you weren’t at Rotary last week you will have missed putting your name down to attend the POW on 2 March.
Doug Potter has just 37 names – so please contact Doug if wishing to attend for catering and seating arrangements.

Doug tells me that we have 9 great nominations – so this evening looks like being another wonderful evening. Remember this is a partners night – 6.30 for 7pm start.

2) Movies on Wednesday 23 February:

29 Strathfield Rotarians and partners are down to attend the pre-release of “Conviction” at Greater Union Burwood Westfield this week.
Again if you missed the Commitment Sheet please ring me (9764 1082) by Tuesday 22/2/11 if you wish to attend.

The movie starts at 7pm but it is suggested that we meet in the foyer at about 6.30pm. Cost is $20 per person – all proceeds to Polio Plus.

3) Outbound GSE to the Philippines:

Follow the GSE team activities – particularly our own David (Westpac) Martin - on their blog (click)
I have had a quick look and am greatly impressed by what they have done in such a short period of time.
