Last week’s meeting provided all the elements that make us feel proud of being Rotarians.

District Governor Paul Reid’s presentation enlightened members about his career and passion for Rotary. The pride, joy and satisfaction he derives from his commitment to his roles, together with the support of Julia is admirable.

It was a great evening of fellowship as Paul and Julia mingled with members before and after the meeting, creating a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

The District’s leadership is certainly in fine hands.

During the week I had a telephone conversation with John Watkins, who is not enjoying the best of health, but remains positive, and he extended his appreciation to George Hallworth who visited him recently and Roger Vince who he met in Homebush, whilst shopping, for sharing some time with him. He hopes to be able to attend a meeting when his condition improves and he is able to enjoy some good fellowship.

This Sunday, we will be flying the Rotary Banner at The Strathfield Spring Fair, in Strathfield Park, providing barbecue delicacies to the masses. Strathfield Council has put in a considerable amount of effort to provide an enjoyable and entertaining experience for everyone who attends.

Tonight we welcome and look forward to the presentation from the GSE Team who travelled to District 4710, Brazil, in April this year.
