As I settle into my role, I would like to congratulate Trevor Duxbury, on the time and effort he has put in to provide us with the new bulletin format. His enthusiasm for this very demanding role is commendable.

The availability and good use of technology was demonstrated in a positive manner during the week, when President Elect, Chandra Kumar, of The Rotary Club of Bangalore, Koramangala, District 3190, India, was on a short visit to Sydney, and was staying with a friend in Strathfield.

He clicked on our website, then clicked to send a email, direct to me, requesting a meeting on Saturday, for a banner exchange and discuss the possibility of a sister club arrangement. We enjoyed a pleasant meeting and intend to strengthen our relationship.

I am sure all those in attendance at last week’s meeting were impressed by our guest speaker, Rosemary Hamill from The Barnardos Children Family Centre, and her informative and inspiring speech. I encourage all members to read Ian Johnson’s report.

Tonight, is Club Assembly, and the opportunity for all members to participate and give strength to this year’s theme of “The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands”.
