A warm welcome and thank you to our partners and guests for joining us tonight to enjoy fellowship and reflect on a number of our achievements throughout the year.

To guests joining us for the first time, I hope you enjoy a pleasant evening and gain an understanding of what happens at a Rotary meeting and some of the activities and programs that Strathfield Rotary are involved in.

The proceeds of our recent Golf Day will be presented to our guests, Carol and Roy Langsford, Directors of The Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation, where every dollar provided is put into funding research for the simple and specific goal of finding a cure for multiple sclerosis.

We will also be providing funds to The Rotary Foundation for the Annual Programs Fund Goal and Rotary’s US$200 Million Challenge Goal for Polio Eradication, raised from our weekly raffles and sergeant sessions.

President Kevin and Guest SpeakersI would like to thank Kevin Beltrame and Roger Vince for organising a great team of chaperones for The Meriden Interact Dance on Friday night, including Bradley Ayres, Arthur Crossan, Janelle Watson, Connie Galletta, Ted Ingall, Rod McDougall, Peter Smith, Allan Teale and Keith Stockall.

A reminder that our celebration for Ted Ingall’s 50 years in Rotary is just over two weeks away on Friday 28th May.

Last week’s meeting was certainly a busy one and it was good to hear from Past President of the Rotary Club of Sydney, Bruce Edwards and Susy Coslovich from The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association, seeking our club’s assistance for the Pacific Beat, Solomon Islands, Youth Festival Fundraising Day at Santa Sabina College, on Saturday 19th June.
The evening concluded with an exciting and entertaining presentation from Alice Wong and Sophie Xiao, from the Shen Yun Performing Arts, who are currently performing in Sydney.

It is always a delight to welcome Belinda Noonan to our meetings and I am looking forward to her revelations regarding the events at the recent Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

Cheers,

President Kevin
