What a wonderful time of the year, with everyone excited by the opportunities to share more time with family and friends and relax and reflect on the year’s activities.

I would like to thank PP Bert Houston for his efficient chairmanship of last week’s Annual General Meeting and congratulate Bradley Ayers, Kevin Beltrame, Trevor Duxbury, Ian Johnson, Doug Potter and Darrell Slater on the election as directors on President Elect Peter Smith’s Board for 2010-2011 and special congratulations to Trevor Duxbury on his election as our President for 2011-2012. Combined with the nominations of Roger Vince as Secretary, Keith Stockall as Treasurer and Grahame True as Sergeant for 2010-2011, we can confidently state that the future of our club is in good hands.

Our thoughts are with Janet Johnson, Brian and their family at the moment with the sad news of the passing of her father Noel Kerr, on Sunday evening.

Ross Brown has advised me that Joan is progressing steadily in Concord Hospital after her operation last week and expressed his thanks for the flowers and messages they have received from members of our club.

Many thanks to Peter Smith for his organizational work in preparing everything for a successful Carols by Candlelight this Saturday, and he has requested those participating to be in attendance from 5.00pm.

Tonight is our opportunity to relax and enjoy fellowship with members and partners in our Christmas Party, and next week Connie Galletta has organized for the young, together with the old, to be entertained at our Children’s Christmas Party, providing lots of fun for everyone.

Suzanne and I wish you and your families a wonderful, safe and happy Christmas filled with many joyous moments and hope the New Year provides you good health, prosperity and happiness.
