Last week we learned a
little of a different aspect of live theatre. Patricia Boggs told of
her job of “selling a dream” to the public. Patricia has worked with
many famous artists and producers as well as being involved with many
internationally famous shows. An enjoyable evening, though not too many
partners for an “optional night”. More time, promotion, notification
needed.
As you may recall just
short of $1,000.00 was raised by the raffle at the Police Awards night.
The Club made the amount up to a round $1000.00 and Treasurer Bob
Templeman presented a cheque for that amount to the Motor Neurone
Disease Association of NSW inc., at their meeting last week. Bob is a
Board Member of the association.
At the board meeting at
the conclusion of last weeks meeting we covered a fair bit of ground.
Treasurer Bob reported a satisfactory financial state of affairs. A
cheque for $100 to ARHRF was approved. The picnic to Ross Brown’s
property in the Yarramalong Valley on October 16th is organised and maps
will be made available.
Directors reported that
generally we seem to be traveling quite well although of course weekly
attendance is not as good as we would like to see it.
In this year’s school book
award it is proposed to include a list of Rotary Programmes aimed at
High School students.
Until
next week
