Last Wednesday saw our first Club Assembly for this Rotary year.
Each Director gave his aims for the year which were well received. Questions were not numerous although some forceful views were expressed mainly regarding attendance and fundraising. Differences of opinion emerged regarding the emphasis that should be placed on straight out fundraising as a community service. All taken in a spirit of goodwill and a good meeting (and a good meal) ensued.
Connie Galletta outlined some initiatives for the social scene which augers well for the coming year.
We welcome ADG Peter Davidson to our meeting tonight. Peter has been a great help in the lead up to the Changeover and I express my thanks to him.
Welcome too to Father Columba McBeth Green who has travelled quite some distance to be with us tonight. We look forward to his address.
