President George's

1 February 2006

For our first “home” meeting for 2006 we had a look at a different side of our hospital and health care system courtesy of our guest speaker Dr Andrew Watson.  Dr Andrew took us into the world of the hospital health care professional.  For me the system finished looking pretty good, especially with dedicated specialists like Dr Watson in charge.  More money needed of course.

David Franco told is of his RYLA experiences and underlined what a great Rotary programme this is.  David is certainly a good ambassador for RYLA and as Euan has told us many times it is something that we could and should be more pro active in promoting.

I represented the Club at a meeting called by Strathfield Council to address the future needs for recreational and community facilities in our area.  One of the questions posed is – If you were in charge of Council resource allocation what would you consider to be the three main priorities for Council in terms of sport, recreation, community and cultural service or facility provision?  Any feedback on this?

Don’t forget THURSDAY 16 FEBRUARY 6.30 for 7 is our big charity Golf Night transferred from Wednesday night.  It is a partners night, bring along a friend or relative – lets make it a rally great night.

Until next week

Enjoy Rotary,

                         President George
